  • At GlaxoSmithKline, explored new computer science technologies relevant to pharmaceutical research and implemented prototypes for promising systems.
  • Developed text mining systems to extract information from unstructured scientific and medical literature; established company-wide use of a wiki to foster information sharing; piloted advanced search interface to improve the search experience for corporate documents; prototyped an information integration system which used ontology-based domain models, data source wrappers and mediators to find and integrate information; explored usefulness of 3D virtual worlds in a corporate environment.
